Feeding Tips for This Age

  • Start with single-ingredient purees (rice cereal, sweet potato, avocado)
  • Introduce new foods one at a time, waiting 3-5 days between new foods
  • Milk (breast milk or formula) is still the primary nutrition source
  • Offer solids after milk feeding initially, then before as baby gets used to solids
  • Watch for signs of food allergies or sensitivities
  • Let baby explore food textures and self-feeding with safe finger foods
