Feeding Tips for This Age
- ✓Feed on demand - watch for hunger cues like rooting, sucking on hands, or fussiness
 - ✓Newborns have tiny stomachs (size of a marble at birth) so they need frequent small feedings
 - ✓Both breast and formula-fed babies should feed 8-12 times per day
 - ✓Wake baby for feedings if they sleep longer than 4 hours during the first few weeks
 - ✓Expect cluster feeding in the evenings - this is normal and helps build milk supply
 - ✓Track wet and dirty diapers to ensure baby is getting enough: 6+ wet diapers per day by day 6
